What does our future hold for the multifaceted, diverse fields of knowledge within the scope of humanities, social sciences, and law? In a world that is increasingly turning inwards, with nations tightening borders, with genocidal impulses overriding humaneness and the protection of the vulnerable, and with older, more concretized models of identity pushing to the margins the multiplicity and porosity we have come to associate with the question of identity, can a renewed commitment to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary modes of thinking allow for a reevaluation of knowledge itself?
As the disciplinary apparatus of a university insists on being tradition-bound, it organizes the formation of knowledge around subjects, majors, general education courses and indeed, certificates. Therefore, to make room for a more multifaceted, dynamic approach to learning and the production of knowledge, PAEDEIA invites scholarly articles in the diverse fields of humanities, social sciences, and law.
